Edit to clarify the above is my mum's organized-ness. I have along way to go in that department! Plus, I had to fix my misspelling of weird. Weird how I can never get that word right. hey! just did!
Have I mentioned yet how much I love my mum? She has expressed how much fabric she has stashed and how she couldn't possibly live enough lifetimes to sew through it all . I think these comments were the big motivator for me to learn to sew over the years. I don't know if it's having kids (man, that 's' behind kid still throws me off!) but I finally have found true passion for this life skill that I always believed I could never have the patience for.
Craig booked off to Calgary last month, leaving me alone with the kids for the first time (eeks!) and Mumsy gave him permission to raid her stash on my behalf. How incredibly generous! So I left Craig to his discretion and he came home with tonnes. And I've been sewing up a storm. The fun part is, some of the fabric I've been using are remnants of materials my mum used for her own outfits while I was growing up. This one I used for example:
is a leftover from a shirt my mom made that she wore lots while I was growing up. I tried it on, looked in the mirror and all I could see was my mum. Let's just say I wasn't exactly making eye contact. You know, kid-Kathy eye level. See what I'm saying? That was a trippy flashback.
Anyhow, that's the story of what I've been up to lately. That and the daily embarassing model wanna be rushed between Craig's bathroom breaks photo shoots. In between Kale's bouts of consciouness too. Sewing up my mom's stash and posting them in the shop. Bringing home the booby bacon. Oh, yeah!
